When the Rotary Club of Werribee recognized the need to produce affordable protection for the elderly residents of the area in 1974, it was the start of a project that brought together a group of dedicated individuals. As the stylish Chairman of the Board of Directors for Manor Court, I would like to admit the countless hours and unwavering support of our preceding and current Directors, many of whom have served terms of ten years or more. Most aged care facility es will not acknowledge a resident to residential protection until the Asset Income Assessment is provided. Means testing will determine whether the resident is classified as: If you are a member of a couple, half of your combined income wealth are used, to determine your Means Tested Concern Fee, regardless of which partner earns the income, or owns the asset. Once these caps are reached you will not be needed to pay any further Means Tested Fees, and the government will pay the fee on behalf of the resident to the aged concern facility. A resident who does not bear an Assets' Income Assessment will be required to pay the maximum Means Tested Fee, based on the costs of their care. (The ACFI funding the government will pay to the facility). This fee co avers living costs such as meals, power, heating, cooling, cleaning, laundry etc. All residents pay the identical Basic Daily Care Fee regardless of their wealth income. This fee covers living costs such as meals, power, heating, cooling, cleaning, laundry etc. This is an extra cost towards the cost of care that some Unsup ported Residents may be needed to pay. RADs are needed to be refunded to the estate of lifeless residents, no more than 14 days behind receipt of Grant of Probate or Letters of istration.
